Serving the Least Among Us

Published: June 5, 2020, 8 a.m.

Summary:

This is a time of what can be overwhelming stress, turmoil, uncertainty, instability and the list goes on almost without end, and exhaustingly so! Importantly, our way out of the unending turbulence we're experiencing is not to primarily focus on ourselves, for that's not where the answers to our commotion lie. The solutions are outside of ourselves...on serving the needs of others, by practicing the Sanskrit term Ahimsa. This episode will point you in the right direction...the way of progress. It will also act as an antidote, providing you with a no-cost wellness tool you can access daily, the 4-7-8 (or relaxing breath) exercise. I use it regularly for a host of issues, including  disconcerting "brain fog." Don't miss out on investing yourself in this episode. You're worth it! Listen NOW!

Resources:

  • The 4-7-8 (or Relaxing Breath) exercise
  • With the tip of your tongue up against the back of your upper teeth, exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
  • Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four.
  • Hold your breath for a count of seven (you may experience some dizziness when you first start doing this).
  • Exhale completely through your  mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight.
  • This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.
