Shania Smith (@shaniasmithco) is a first-generation college graduate who received a full scholarship to Drexel University, visiting scholar at Harvard Business School, and an entrepreneur who’s extremely passionate about the education system.
Since graduation, Shania has worked for a number of Silicon Valley tech companies, including LinkedIn and currently, Carta.
In this week’s episode, we discuss our college experiences, the education system, and the pros & cons of the traditional approach and alternative education outlets.
Shania also shares about her personal entrepreneurship journey with Invure, a company she founded to help high school students in their college decision-making process by increasing access to relevant information.
While the company is no longer operational, the mission is still so important and provides valuable perspective around the current education system.
