If you have ever fished for catfish in a tournament you will know that skill is very important.  You need to have a certain level of expertise to win.  You need to have the right tackle, the right bait and the ability to find fish and put them on the boat.  

While all this is true, I believe that many anglers have all of these skills, especially in the major tournaments.  I believe that in the major tournaments that easily half the field has the ability to win, but the determining factor is luck.  I believe luck plays an important factor, if not the most important factor, in winning a major catfish tournament.
