S2E28: Mouse In The House

Published: July 5, 2020, 9:44 p.m.

After a ludicrous battle with a mouse in their flat, Rebecca and Alex are back to discuss an interesting week in the life of Liverpool and Chelsea fans. Liverpool got back to winning ways against Aston Villa in their first home game as champions - with a Curtis Jones goal for good measure. We dig into how Liverpool's midfield might look next season and whether those Thiago rumours hold any weight, before looking back at the loss to Man City at the Etihad. We consider Man City's mentality, whether this was truly them laying down a marker for next season, Kevin De Bruyne vs Jordan Henderson, and how uncomfortable the Raheem Sterling / Joe Gomez situation makes us. Chelsea have also had an up and down time; their loss to West Ham had all the hallmarks of the defence and midfield at their worst under Frank Lampard, but they looked far better against Watford. We analyse Barkley and Mount's form, where Jorginho has gone, left back issues, and whether Willian will be at this club forever. And there's plenty to chat about when it comes to the top four / top five race; with Man Utd's Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood inspired resurgence, Arsenal's success after switching to a back three, Leicester City's poor run finally coming to an end as Jamie Vardy got on the scoresheet again, Wolves' slip up, Sheffield Utd's up and down form, and who's really to blame for Tottenham's decline? Plus, Klopp vs Shreeves, more VAR handball nonsense, early morning scares, Twitter nonces, nacho stealing, Matic the soldier, the middle aisle of Aldi, bringing back Ashley Cole, cubed chicken, Mark from Love is Blind, mini men on CBeebies, swanning like a duck, and 'asterisk vs ostrich'. **Please take the time to rate and review us on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts, as it makes it easier for other potential listeners to find us.
