Episode 43

Dark Starts backcountry splitboarding podcast presents Leo Tsuo, owner of Weston.

  • This Golden Colorado lifer got his first day on the hills when his mom won a radio contest. He bombed down on his last run and was hooked since.
  • He discovered the backcountry when season passes became cost prohibitive. Then he stumbled upon his first powder, and it felt like he was flying through the air. Just like that, double hooked.
  • He started as a shop employee for Weston and loved it so much that he bought the company.

Leo is an inspiration to the splitboard community. He’s finding ways to give back the community through education. He’s bridging the divide between skiers and snowboarders. He’s helping mother nature with sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing. And, he’s creating rad products for the best days ever. We really enjoyed chatting with Leo about gear, boards and making the community even better. Then he raised the bar even higher with pocket sausage. Cheers brother.
