Cutternation Podcast #69 - Taylor Gish Head Strength and Conditioning Coach (2nd Season) Responsibilities at UNW include designing, implementing, and monitoring sport performance programs for all 20 varsity sports teams He will also work closely with UNW sports medicine staff and help coordinate both student-athlete rehabilitation and injury prevention, as well as oversee UNW's weight room facilities and act as a resource/liaison for undergraduate Kinesiology students and the larger student body Prior to his S&C role, Gish lectured in the Kinesiology department as an adjunct professor from 2014-2017  Personal Gish earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a minor in coaching in May 2012 from Northwestern His professional background includes internships at Sport Performance Centers and the University of Minnesota before working in the private S&C sector for the past six years From 2009-2012 he was a thrower on Northwestern's men's track and field team and served as the squad's captain his junior and senior year During his competitive years, he racked up seven All-Conference titles, was a six-time UMAC Champion, three-time NCCAA National Champion, an NCCAA All-American, and had four top-25 event finishes in DIII national rankings He still holds the UMAC conference record in the weight throw as well as UN’s school records in the discus, the weight throw, and the hammer throw Gish is professionally certified through the NSCA (CSCS), USA Weightlifting (Sport Performance Coach), and Functional Movement Systems Remaining active, Gish competes in weightlifting where he holds his weight class's state record in the clean and jerk at 174kg – his best snatch is 138kg and he's competed locally and nationally since 2013 Gish resides in New Hope, Minn., with his wife Ally and their two kids, Jude and River
