148: Being Hard On Yourself Won't Help You Achieve More (DAILY INSPO)

Published: Sept. 14, 2020, 4:18 p.m.

You might hold yourself to high standards with the good intention of trying to become better, but the effectiveness of this is revealed when you fail to meet these standards.

What happens when you don't meet your own standard for excellence?\xa0 Do you feel like you did a great job anyway or do you berate yourself for not doing good enough?

If it's the latter, then you are coupling it up with being hard on yourself.\xa0 Being hard on yourself will have the opposite effect that you're looking for.

Self inflicted shame, guilt and criticism DOES NOT make you better.\xa0 It makes you curl up and become small and afraid to be out in the world to try anything in case you make a mistake.

Learn to forgive yourself for mistakes.
