Welcome to Episode Eighteen of the Cryptid Ramblers Podcast. In this episode we are going offshore and taking a deep dive into the ocean. For here, we will find the subject of this episode, as the thumbnail suggests we will be exploring the legend and myth that is Mermaids.

Also known throughout history, they pop up in folklore from all around the world including the United kingdom, Europe and Asia. Of course the most famous iteration was arguably injected into pop culture by Hans Christian Anderson, his story was then of developed by Walt Disney.

Our research in this episode takes us all around the world with sightings in England, Scotland, Greece, Japan and many other countries around the world. Much like a lot of the cryptids we have already covered, each region has its own version of what we commonly know as a Mermaid.

So join us on this aquatic journey as we dive deep into the origins of this creature whilst also looking at real world evidence, sightings and stories.
