Amidst the protests are calls to “defund the police.” activists want to reallocate police budget increases to community groups. Pat Kiernan, Annika Pergament, and Jamie Stelter speak with Eric Adams, the Brooklyn borough president and a former officer, about where he thinks changes could be made.
Pat also talks to State Sen. Jamaal Bailey, one of the sponsors of the bill to repeal 50-A, about police reform.
