IT’S incredibly difficult to sum up Macedon Ranges artist Joanne Mott’s art. Primarily she is a sculptor, making both studio-based pieces and site-responsive artworks. And while her successful 25-year career has taken her around the world showcasing her expansive collections including drawing and installation, sculpture and community artwork, at the heart of her work is the natural environment and the importance of connecting with the people around her. In her own words her work reflects an "ongoing exploration of the inextricable relationship of nature and culture".
