65: Dr. Noel Rose: An Immunologist Affectionately Called "The Father of Autoimmunity"

Dr. Noel Rose was an internationally renowned expert in autoimmune disease; he had been doing research in this specialty for more than 50 years. Dr. Rose was instrumental in establishing the whole field of autoimmunity, and his textbook, “The Autoimmune Diseases” is a classic. He was professor of pathology and molecular microbiology and immunology and Director of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Autoimmune Disease Research, then moved to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and was Chairman Emeritus of the Scientific Advisory Board of the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association.
