Adelphia built a number of fiber paths that Santa Monica would mange to connect anchor institutions. The savings from no longer leasing services provided the basis for expanding a network that would meet Santa Monica\'s needs long into the future.\\n\\nThey took that network and added on, eventually serving businesses with dark fiber and even some lit service.
