Introduction

This is our second episode of Coffee Break German, our new German course for beginners. In weekly episodes you\\u2019ll join native speaker Thomas who\\u2019ll be teaching learner Mark in gradual, structured lessons. Our \\u201cCultural Correspondent\\u201d Julia and our \\u201cGrammar Guru\\u201d Kirsten will also join us in each episode to share their knowledge and love of all things German. In this lesson you\\u2019ll be learning greetings for different times of the day and how to introduce yourself:

  • how to say \\u201cgood morning\\u201d, \\u201cgood afternoon\\u201d, \\u201cgood evening\\u201d and \\u201cgood night\\u201d;
  • why the word for \\u201cgood\\u201d changes in these expressions;
  • how to ask people \\u201cwhat is your name?\\u201d and how to answer that question yourself;
  • where the German language is spoken.
