b'This week I speak to Cole Davids, a social entrepreneur on a mission to awaken a sleeping generation.\\nCole grew up in Belhar on the Cape Flats and was exposed to gender-based violence in his home, as well as being a victim of abuse himself for a number of years. Cole started to observe those around him and realised that if he didn\\u2019t fight for a better tomorrow, he would end up like those in his environment \\u2013 hopeless and victims of their circumstances. Cole decided that where he is from and his mistakes does not disqualify him from becoming a lion, a king of his life. He knew his journey would not be easy, as he would need to unlearn many of the behaviours and ways of thinking that he had subconsciously adopted from his environment. Strong in his position, Cole decided that a life of victimhood would end with him, he would be the one to bear the burden and fight to restore hope to his family.\\nThis is when Cole went on a journey of discovery and redefining who he was and what he could do. \\xa0Cole discovered that there is more to life than the mess you find yourself in, and that if you can grow through your mess, then your mess can become your message. Cole has taken his message around the globe and has spoken at some of the most prestigious organizations such as Harvard and Oxford universities. \\n \\nIn this episode we speak about the importance of your attitude towards life, not being afraid to fall and fail, as well as the importance of reconstructing your personal narrative in a way that serves you and your life\\u2019s mission.
