What exactly do you do with performance management; Performance management is a process. And you hold yourself accountable for reaching specific standards. And these standards are set by you. Often it can come in the form of having a coach setting standards also. And that can help tremendously because it holds you accountable. One way you can kind of trick your mind in the next year as we roll into the new year is to set these performance standards for yourself. And what I mean by performance standards is communicating to yourself. And if you feel that you're wavering, hold yourself accountable to your friend, tell your friend what you're doing. And that's going to solidify what you're trying to accomplish. Because what you're doing there is you're holding yourself accountable because you are externalizing your goals. And the more specific you can be with your friend, the better off you're going to be because you're going to be able to identify your goals when you're wavering when you can't go on. And I think it's essential to set that up with your friends, or a person, a mentor that can hold you accountable, in a situation, provide that feedback that you need. Because feedback is essential for going towards your goals, we have devices, such as fitness trackers that allow you to track your steps every day. It holds you accountable and will enable you to see your progress. Seeing your progress is very important for performance management, finding out where you're going and how you're going to get to those objectives in your life. And it's not easy because you have to set those clear expectations of what you're trying to do. And expectations can cause stress because it's tough to have a set of expectations and hold yourself to them. It does require a significant amount of effort to a certain point. You have to take that initiative to get up every day to go through that performance management process to figure out. What will I do to improve today and take it through small, incremental steps to show you how to improve every day. When I was studying for some very hard designations, I just took small steps every day. And those small steps helped me achieve something that I never thought I could achieve. The same held when I started going into music, and you have to take small steps, create some songs, start with the piano, get more complicated, and do little things that will allow you to go through a growth mindset. In an exercise program, they don't set you out there trying to do the most challenging work; they put you out there with the more straightforward piece. Maybe sees where you're at a performance test so that you know how to improve because tracking is essential when it comes to performance. Setting those expectations, where you're trying to go, is trying to set objective goals you're reaching. And that's one thing you can do in 2021 to sit down and put your plans in front of you. Maybe find a room in your house, where you walk in, and you see those goals every day. And that way, it's more real. And you know you're going to visualize your destination of where you want to be. That can help you provide that initiative you need when trying to go out there and accomplish anything. And then always monitor how many people forget this, but observe how you're feeling that day. Maybe you're not having a good day. And that's more than satisfactory. That happens all the time to people, and they are not feeling the greatest. And then you can adapt from that point on. And that's going to lead to a clearness that you didn't have before because if you weren't tracking your goals previously, you're then going to get stuck. And you don't want to be stuck in a process. Because then it becomes mundane, and you're not able to carry on.
