Why is the United States suddenly playing the Taiwan card so aggressively?

Published: Nov. 3, 2021, 4 a.m.

The situation across the Taiwan Strait has suddenly become tense recently.

On October 26, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken suddenly publicly expressed the U.S. support for Taiwan’s participation in the UN system.

Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party authorities also followed. On October 28, Tsai publicly admitted that there were US troops stationed in Taiwan for training purposes.

So, what does the United States want to do? Is it going to have a showdown with the mainland on the Taiwan issue?

I don’t think so.

Now that the US domestic economy is in a mess, it simply does not have the ability to start a war on the Taiwan Strait.
