What can’t China please the West?

There is a very popular saying among western netizens and media: China is now on the offensive everywhere, and you have no friends, you will destroy yourself.

I believe that many people in China also have doubts about this: China today has many frictions and conflicts with Western countries headed by the United States. It is tit-for-tat on various issues such as Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Taiwan and South China Sea. Will this cause China to be isolated in the world?

I would like to ask everyone to think about it. In all the current diplomatic disputes with China, which one was initiated by China? From Hong Kong, Xinjiang, to the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea, Western countries headed by the United States have imposed ideological and geopolitical disputes on China and the Chinese people. What China has done is nothing more than responding to the threats.

Is it wrong for China to defend its sovereignty, security, and core development interests on these key issues?

Is it true that China is the only good international citizen in the eyes of Westerners, only if China swallows its pride and is at the mercy of others?

We must understand the nature of the conflict between China and the West.

China Explained will show you that because of China’s continued success in industrial upgrading, technological innovation and realizing its huge potential, it is an unstoppable process. The inevitable rise of China may feel intimidating and some simply reject it. Don’t be. China’s rise is part of the new global trend unlike what we have seen in the past one hundred years. Embrace the change and seize the opportunity.
