The answer is, China held a high level session to plan the country’s development in the next five years and agreed on the medium term objective to the year 2035. The official name is called the 5th plenary session of the 19th Communist Party of China Central Committee in late October. I understand that over a million people from all walks of lives were involved in drafting the plans.
Since most people do not read official Chinese documents or fully understand their implications, this episode tries to explain the direction Chinese economy and society is heading in the next five years or possibly to year 2035.
