Panedmic is America's Chernobyl

The death toll from the epidemic in the United States has exceeded 200,000, and the number of infections is close to 7 million. It is likely that the epidemic in the United States will continue for many more months.

I remember that when the epidemic broke out in China, officials in Wuhan did not respond properly at the beginning and led to a lot of public grievances. Western media began to spread a view that the epidemic would become China’s Chernobyl incident, implying that improper response to the epidemic will be the last straw to overwhelm the Chinese system. After just 2 months, the epidemic in China has been very well controlled, economic recovery has progressed steadily, and people's lives have basically returned to normal.

But in the United States, the Trump administration politicized the epidemic from the very beginning, and even on the common sense issue of wearing or not wearing a mask. In the end, the epidemic was almost completely out of control and the American people paid a heavy price. Looking back, the epidemic is more like the US version of the "Chernobyl" incident. It fully exposed the shortcomings and problems of the US system and broke the myth of the so-called superiority of the US system.
