Epidemic revealed Taiwan’s poor governance

Taiwan, as the second batch of regions that achieved industrialization earlier (the Asian Four Little Dragons) after the East Asian region following Japan after World War II, had good governance capabilities for a period of time.

However, during the two governing periods of the Democratic Progressive Party, it has continuously stirred up contradictions in Taiwan and the  "de-sinicization" of identity recognition and the governance capabilities of local governments have greatly degraded.

Recently, the water shortage and power cuts in Taiwan, coupled with the outbreak of the epidemic, have fully exposed the shortcomings of its governance capabilities.

Over the past year or so, the local authorities in Taiwan Province have been proud of themselves as a model of the international community’s fight against the epidemic, and they ridiculed China’s ability to fight the epidemic. So far, in its official documents, the epidemic is still viciously called "Wuhan pneumonia".

This arrogance is an important reason for the outbreak of the epidemic in Taiwan.

China Explained will show you that because of China’s continued success in industrial upgrading, technological innovation and realizing its huge potential, it is an unstoppable process. The inevitable rise of China may feel intimidating and some simply reject it. Don’t be. China’s rise is part of the new global trend unlike what we have seen in the past one hundred years. Embrace the change and seize the opportunity.
