Marco A. Bongioanni is an NYS licensed mental health counselor who has been a Readjustment Counseling Therapist with the Bronx Vet Center, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, since 2014. He works both in the individual and group setting, offering primarily outpatient counseling services for combat Veterans diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Additionally, he works with Veterans who have experienced military sexual trauma. He is trained in several evidence-based practices to include Cognitive Processing Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.
Mr. Bongioanni completed graduate school studies at Fordham University in 2012, obtaining a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling. During his training, he was a psychology extern in the PTSD outpatient clinic at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Mr. Bongioanni served on active duty in the U.S. Army as an officer for 9 years, including two combat deployments to Iraq, and served in the Republic of Korea, Germany, Egypt, and Djibouti. Mr. Bongioanni currently still serves part-time in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Civil Affairs Battalion Commander. He was born and raised in New York City and is frequently involved in activities and initiatives within the Veteran community.
