b"For several years now, if you were pregnant and in the Gander catchment area, you were likely diverted to Grand Falls-Windsor to deliver your baby. James Paton Memorial Hospital had a chronic problem in recruiting and keeping obstetrical staff. Eight months ago, the provincial government announced that it plans to fix the problem and permanently reopen the Gander OBS unit.
