Trump\'s comment ignited a firestorm of criticism from local leaders. "The border city of El Paso, Texas\\xa0used to have extremely high rates of violent crime - one of the highest in the country -\\xa0and considered one of our nation\'s most dangerous cities," Trump said. "Now, with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of our safest cities."KVIA\\n\\nAbout a mile down the road, several thousand demonstrators gathered at a high school carrying American flags, rainbow banners, \\u201cBeto for President\\u201d flags, and flags for Mexico and Texas. There were also signs decrying Trump and his border wall \\u2014 such as \\u201cTrump made America hate again\\u201d \\u2014 and chants from the crowd that included \\u201cMake tacos, not walls!\\u201d\\n\\nThe President is coming to El Paso Monday. He will promise a wall and will repeat his lies about the dangers that immigrants pose. With El Paso as the backdrop, he will claim that this city of immigrants was dangerous before a border fence was built here in 2008.Beto'
