Disillusioned by what traditional psychology had to offer\\xa0overweight and/or food obsessed individuals, Dr. Livingston\\xa0spent several decades researching the nature of bingeing and\\xa0overeating via work with his own patients AND a self-funded\\xa0research program with more than 40,000 participants. Most\\xa0important, however, was his own personal journey out of
obesity and food prison to a normal, healthy weight and a\\xa0much more lighthearted relationship with food.

Overweight Epidemic

Most people in the United States are, to say the least slightly overweight.\\xa0 \\xa0Many of us are overweight through no fault of our own.\\xa0 The food we consume is not the natural variety intended for us on this planet.\\xa0 Due to the ever-growing population, we are bombarded with a synthetic version of the natural foods to feed ourselves. \\xa0

Each year adults across the globe make New Year\'s resolutions to lose weight. It\'s very hard to win the battle of the bulge when it comes to food choices and health.\\xa0 Many of us are addicted to the food that is intended to keep us alive and healthy. Frequently the food we consume is detrimental to our long-term wellbeing.\\xa0 We consumed far too many calories as the food is packed with calories but not much nutrition.

Glenn Livingston Ph.D. is the author of never binge again. \\xa0Glenn Livingston took it upon himself to decipher why binge eating was a hard addiction to break for many people. On the billionaire lifestyle podcast, Glenn spoke of how as a young man it was very easy to stay in shape and eat whatever he liked.\\xa0 Progressing in age Glenn found it harder and harder to lose weight or keep the weight off his body. His food addiction of choice was chocolate. After performing some research he found the root cause was in his childhood but still he could not break this addiction.

Feelings and food

Glenn Livingston is the product of a family of professional\\xa0therapist.\\xa0 In his own words if you ask a therapist to solve a problem they\'re going to ask the subject in question how it feels.\\xa0 Glenn Livingston found his food addiction was so severe at times, it hampered his attention to work prosperously. Upon identifying the problem a food addiction Glenn began his research to find out why he could not control his food urges.

During his research, Glenn found our reptilian brain\\xa0can override our sense of logic for choices to feed our pleasure centers.\\xa0 In many cases please is found in the form of food. There are situations which cause us\\xa0to act differently than our norm. He found emotional states can trigger food preference addiction.

In essence with the type of food available, we have been trained away from natural whole food. The replacement for the natural foods are the industrial process foods available in every grocery store across the globe in industrialized nations.\\xa0 During our interview, Glenn summed up modern food as a new kind of crack.

  1. Lonely or broken heated people overindulge\\xa0with Chocolate.
  2. Stressed at work individuals overindulge with Crunchy salty snacks.
  3. Soft chewy foods indicate stress at home.
