Interview w/ Matt Elkin (Director of Basketball Operations at Yale)

b'Coach Matt Elkin shares his coaching journey.\\nIn October 2020 he was hired as the DOBO for Yale Men\'s Basketball. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2014, during the 2011-12 season he served as a student manager for the UW men\\u2019s basketball team. The Badgers finished 27-10 overall and reached the Sweet 16 of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Coach Elkin also served as Head Manager and Student Assistant for two seasons at Edgewood College (NCAA DIII) where he helped the Eagles reach the NACC Championship in 2014.\\n \\nHe earned his Master\\u2019s degree from Northeastern in 2016, where Coach Elkin served as the Graduate Manager for the men\\u2019s basketball team. In his first year, the Huskies posted a 23-12 record, captured the CAA Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.\\nCoach Elkin spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach and teacher at Vermont Academy in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). While at VA, he helped mentor 13 student athletes who went on to play Division I college basketball, including McDonald\\u2019s All-American Simi Shittu, currently playing with the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League, and first team All-ACC selection Jordan Nwora.\\n\\nAfter Vermont Academy he moved to California and was an Assistant Coach at the Windward School in Los Angeles. In his two seasons, Windward posted a 53-15 overall record, made back-to-back Division I state tournament appearances and captured the 2020 CIF Southern Section Division I championship.
