Dr. Ioannis Prassas talks about his research on Covid diagnostics and the effects of Long Covid. He is a scientist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada. Trained as a molecular biologist, his research focuses mostly on the application of proteomic technologies for diagnostics and he is translating research findings into clinical products with great therapeutic promise. Currently, he is finishing work on a rapid diagnostic saliva test for COVID that will be used in schools and work places, and he is researching the long term effects of COVID that could lead to new therapeutics.
