\\nToday we are going to talk to Shanisty Ireland about RSV and bringing awareness to our audience and to share Adam\\u2019s story. Shanisty is a mom from Columbus, a mother of 4 beautiful children, and a blogger called A Place for the Modern Mom.
\\nShanisty had no idea what RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) was until they almost lost their son to the virus at just 6 weeks old. Adam was born full-term weighing 9 lbs. 8 oz. in November of 2016.
\\nLike many families, Adam had two older siblings who were in preschool and bringing home every cough and sniffle. Adam was diagnosed with RSV at 6 weeks old. He tested positive at the doctor\\u2019s office. \\u201cMrs. Ireland, your son has RSV, take him home and watch him.\\u201d she stared at the tech, in confusion because she had never heard of RSV before.
\\nAfter a long 24 hours at home, Adam wasn\\u2019t improving so she rushed him to Nationwide Children\\u2019s Hospital where they spent 5 terrifying days watched her baby fight for his life.
