b'Nick Newell will have his life story told in a new film due out on Aug. 6 with former "Teen Wolf" star Cody Christian playing the Bellator veteran and former World Series of Fighting title contender.

"Notorious Nick" stars Christian alongside Barry Livingston, Kevin Pollack and Elisabeth Rohm in a film that will document Newell\'s rise up from the wrestling room until eventually becoming a mixed martial artist after he was born with congenital amputation on his left arm.

The new trailer just released on Tuesday gives a look at what to expect in the upcoming film with Newell taking center stage in the dramatization about his real life.

Here\'s the synopsis for "Notorious Nick," which will be released by Lionsgate:

"Even though he was born with a partial left arm, Nick Newell (Cody Christian) dreams of being a fighter. After wrestling in high school, Nick becomes a fierce competitor when his best friend, Abi, introduces him to mixed martial arts. Suddenly, a tragedy provides Nick with an unexpected opportunity, but to succeed he must commit to becoming the fighter he always hoped to be. Elisabeth R\\xf6hm (American Hustle) and Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects) also star in this thrilling underdog tale based on an inspiring true story." The film will be released on demand starting on Aug. 6 with DVD release following on Aug. 17.

"I just hope that it\'s something that people can relate to," Newell told MMA Fighting in 2016 about the film. "I know that might not make sense, but if you really look deep into it - me, I\'ve never made a big deal out of having one hand. It\'s never been, like, \'look at me, I have one hand. Look at me, I\'m doing this. I\'m going to show this and prove this.\' I\'m a human and I have my difficulties or flaws, if you want to call it that. I don\'t think there\'s anything wrong with it, but you know, I have my problems. But everyone has problems and everyone has obstacles that they face.

"I\'m talking about any dream that you have. There\'s always something that makes it more difficult for you than others to do things, and there\'s a lot of people who are in situations similar to me. Maybe they have different goals, but they\'re facing challenges and you can\'t always see them. So I feel like it\'s going to be something that a lot of people can relate to. I look at myself as being a normal person and just an everyday guy, who, there was nothing special about me. I just had a dream to be the best at what I loved, to be the best version of myself and see how far it could go. And it went pretty far."'
