Coulee Region Origin Myths - 1

The Coulee Kids from Longfellow Middle School took photos of our marvelous Mother Nature and turned them into origin myths. We went on a bus trip to Goose Island Park, located in the Coulee Region, equipped with a camera, our imagination, and a creative eye. We had already learned about basic photographic composition, and our assignment was to look for strange acts of nature that caused us to wonder. It was an enjoyable day that sparked our enthusiasm for writing.

During language arts class, we started the writing process by brainstorming and sharing our photos and wonders. Our teachers interjected lessons on word choice and how to revise our work as we worked through the entire writing process. When all of our stories had been approved, we learned about how to use enunciation, expression, pacing, and rhythm to keep the audience hooked

Dazzled by our creativity, the podject leaders flipped our projects into podcasts.
From lonely trees to mysterious birds, the Coulee Kids are proud to announce their newest podcast – Origin Myths!
