I Liked Congo (1995)
A quick reaction to the 1995 movie Congo, a movie I would like to revisit and analyze more. It has a 22% score on Rotten Tomatoes, but i actually had a lot of fun watching it. It is an adventure with a lame story but with a lot of campy humor and fun. It also does a great job with its tough female lead played by Laura Linney. The actor who stole the show was Ernie Hudson, who is famous for being Winston on Ghostbusters. Usually when a movie has bad reviews, it is mostly because of bad writing, bad pacing, or it is plain boring. I was never bored throughout this movie and would like to see it again. It is definitely a 5/10. It has flaws and it is obvious that the talking gorilla is a woman in a suit, but it is entertaining! This is just a quick post, I am kind of podcast blogging right now and throwing ideas out there until I can get some guests and co-hosts.
