b'\\U0001f530Every year 5th of June is celebrated as World Environment Day. This is year the theme is - \'Ecosystem Restoration\'. \\U0001f530On the first day of the Stockholm Conference on Human Environment, which was held in Sweden from June 05 \\u2013 16 in 1972, UN General Assembly had established World Environment Day. \\U0001f530For the very first time, it was celebrated in the year 1974 with the theme \\u201cOnly One Earth.\\u201d\\n \\nThe purpose of World Environment Day is to spread awareness about the threat to the environment due to rising pollution levels and climate change. \\U0001f530 This day holds great significance in the present world. It is celebrated by every year on 5 June.\\nThe UN Environment Programme (UNEP) annually organizes events for World Environment Day, which encourages worldwide awareness and action for the protection of the environment.\\nOur environment is in grave danger, and the most important way to save it, and hence to save the humankind and other species, is to spread awareness about it. Until and unless, individuals don\'t start making efforts to restore it, there is no chance of saving it. \\n\\U0001f530The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is \\u201cEcosystem Restoration". It emphasizes on the restoration of at least 1 billion degraded hectares of land in the next decade to tackle the Climate Crisis, save species from extinction & secure our future. \\U0001f530A healthy ecosystem, enhances people\'s livelihoods, counteract climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity.\\n\\nAccording to UN website, as much as 50 per cent of our coral reefs have already been lost and up to 90 per cent of coral reefs could be lost by 2050, even if global warming is limited to an increase of 1.5\\xb0C.\\n\\nThis year\'s theme focuses on reviving and restoring our damaged ecosystem. It requires preventing, halting and reversing this damage.\\n\\nThis World Environment Day will kick off the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). It will be a global mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmlands, from the top of mountains to the depth of the sea.'
