Episode 81 - Ultimate Life Defined

Published: June 23, 2020, 2 p.m.

“Here's how I'm defining the Ultimate Life in this context, and you'll see that it has very little to do with wealth. I've had what some would consider pretty extreme wealth during different times in my life and have not been happy. And so money doesn't buy happiness. It facilitates access and some other things. But it doesn't buy happiness. It doesn't buy contentment. It doesn't buy peace of mind.” - Kellan Fluckiger

What you are about to learn

What is the ultimate life? It is a life of purpose, prosperity, and joy created by serving others with your defined gifts. I encourage you to identify and decide for yourself the meaning of ultimate life since this involves you. This is easier to have than you might think, easier to get than you might imagine. Let’s describe this, and let’s put this into dimensional parts. What must you have?

Physical - Now, I am talking about the material things we have in this world. We need these things to continue living, whether we like it or not—your house, money, wealth. Now, I am not saying that we must focus on these. Some people are supremely happy when they have very little money. Because money can’t buy you happiness, yes, it buys you food, clothes, and leisure I will admit that. But, this type of happiness is a temporary thing. This is not the basis of having your ultimate life. In the next podcast, if you will listen, I will explain why. But, I think some of you might already know this because this could be one of your problems to solve. You are looking for one thing that money can’t buy, and that is Joy and true happiness.

Relationship - If you have a partner in life, you might describe that partner your better half. A person who knows you genuinely. The person you're able to share the truth of who you are and accept the truth of who they are. It is not just accepted but in a supportive, loving, kind way to help with your growth. Yes, there will be ups and downs with your partner, but work your way to resolve them. Kids. Relationships with your kids are also meaningful. Your children are part of your life. Do not forget that. If there’s a misunderstanding, try to resolve them, keep the communication open, keep it going. Don’t let small gaps ruin your relationship with them. I, with my kids, need much fixing too, and I admit that. I am telling you that as soon as possible, you must do whatever it takes to resolve things to reach that ultimate life.

Experience - So what things need to be happening for you. What kind of experiences are you looking to create that represent the ultimate life? So, experientially exploring what sort of experiences belong in your ultimate life, your willingness to dimensionalize is vital because it's a good measuring stick. It's easy to say, "I want more money or a better life for more happiness or something." But if you don't describe what that looks like, you have no idea if you're making progress.. And as a coach, I see that all the time and you also have no idea when you're there. So keep track, have a list, and then execute them. Experience them. Experiencing is the best way to know if you already reached your goal of having the ultimate dream. I know that amidst our situation right now, you know, with COVID, this is a bit difficult for us, but try to explore. There are many ways how you can manage this.

Key Takeaways

“So I challenge you to dimensionalize your ultimate life. After you have defined it, you have dimensionalized it, so you know exactly what it looks like in the different dimensions. There are a couple more points, and one is, it will change.”

“If you are interested in creating for yourself the ultimate life, then defining it is essential. And the definition I've given on this podcast is broad and needs to be further broken down. That's what I'm calling dimensionalizing.  It is the size and shape in the different areas of life. However, you choose to break them up. I shared what I do.”

“Commit to it. If you do not commit, I promise it won't happen for you, not because you can't, but because you haven't made a commitment in your heart that's real, powerful, and unshakable and unchangeable to make it happen.”
