Dr. Celeste Watkins-Hayes is a professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Northwestern University, an author, and an educator. She joins Sophia on "Work In Progress" to talk about her research on the intersection of inequality, public policy, race, class, and gender. She also shares what influenced her book, "Remaking a Life" which uses the HIV/AIDS epidemic to better understand how women achieve radical improvements in their social wellbeing in the face of social stigma and economic disadvantage.
