Historically, when asked to picture the typical immigrant, the image of a lone male worker, traveling to the United States to increase his chances at economic prosperity might be one of the first to surface. However, more and more, women are making the journey from their home countries to pursue new lives and opportunities in the U.S. One recently conducted survey hopes to shed light on the lives on these remarkable women. Carrie Pond lets two women living in Mayfield tell their stories.
