What transpired from this event and what was found in his back pocket led investigators to find one of the most heinous and heartbreaking crimes in New Orleans history.
The reincarnation case of Shanti Devi was one that not only shocked the world but also created interest from Mahatma Gandhi. At just four years old, Shanti began talking about her past life. She began going into more details around age 8 and revealed that her previous name was Lugdi Devi and that she had been married to a man named Kedar Nath. She told her parents that she died shortly after giving birth to a son and that they lived in Mathura. After a large investigation by a group appointed by Gandhi, all claims from Shanti were found to be true. So how did such a young girl remember so many details from her past life? Was it really true or all just a big hoax?
