Meet Kenneth Poon. After being diagnosed with HIV, Kenneth was given a death sentence, but he defied all prognoses and expectations, and has lived a long and meaningful life. When he was struck an even bigger blow by developing Shingles that caused him to go blind, all expected him to give up on life, but he did the opposite. When he was first diagnosed with HIV, he was on a cocktail of medications to treat the virus, and those medications were offering more than just a life in for him, they offered him nasty side-effects, but thankfully, research into HIV and AIDS has increased our awareness and knowledge of this often-fatal disease, and now, his viral load is so low, he\u2019s only on one medication, instead of a cocktail of them.
