Glazed Orange Poppy Seed Cake\n\nWhat You Will Need:\n\nMeasuring cups \nmeasuring spoons\nMixing bowls\nMixing spoons\nA whisk\nA skewer or tooth pick\nA wire rack for cooling\nA tray for the rack\nWaxed paper\nA cake cutting knife.\nA small kitchen knife or spatula\nA crock-pot\nPaper towels\n\nIngredients:\n\nFor the Batter:\n\n1\xbd cups of biscuit baking mix\n\xbe cup of sugar\n2 tablespoons of poppy seeds\n\xbd cup of sour cream\n1 egg\n2 tablespoons of milk\n2 teaspoons of orange peel\n1 teaspoon of vanilla\n\nFor the Glaze:\n\n\xbc cup of orange juice\n2 cups of powdered sugar, sifted\n2 teaspoons of poppy seeds\n\nCooking Directions:\n\nCoat inside of a 4 quart Crock-Pot with non-stick cooking spray. \nCut a waxed paper circle to fit the bottom of the Crock-Pot \nSpray lightly with non-stick cooking spray. \n\nTo prepare batter, whisk baking mix, sugar and 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds in medium bowl; \nset aside. \nBlend sour cream, egg, milk, orange peel and vanilla in a separate medium bowl. \nWhisk baking mix mixture into sour cream mixture until thoroughly blended. \nSpoon batter into Crock-Pot; \nsmooth top. \nPlace paper towel under the lid. \nCover; cook on high for 1 to 1 and a half hours, \nor until no longer shiny and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. \nInvert the cake onto a wire rack; \npeel off the waxed paper. \nCool completely. \nTo prepare glaze, whisk orange juice into the powdered sugar in a small bowl. \nCut cake into 8 wedges; \nplace the wedges on the cooling rack \nwith a tray underneath to catch any drips. \nWith a small spatula or knife, spread the glaze over the top \nand cut the sides of each wedge. \nSprinkle 2 teaspoons of poppy seeds over the wedges; \nallow the glaze to set.\n\nMakes 8 servings.\n\nHints and Tips for the Kitchen\n\nCleaning up:\n\nEasy Clean a Blender:\n\n* Fill part way with hot water and a few drops of detergent, cover and turn it on for a few seconds.
