The assault on Chris Rock, perpetrated by Will Smith, is the first one in living memory of the Academy Awards, and while the American audience was treated to a censored version of the assault, the rest of the world got a glimpse into the true depth of humanity in show business.\n\nIn the wake of that assault, questions were asked, that had, both short and long range implications.\n\nWhat caused Will Smith to perpetrate such a violent outburst in a public setting, as the Academy Awards, an awards show watched by millions of families around the world?\n\nWhat are the implications with regards of these men\u2019s careers, in the short term and long term, but the most important question was, should comedians temper their acts in accordance with the audience sensitivities?\n\nDoes a performer have to worry about his or her safety should a joke or piece of their act offend someone in the audience, especially someone with a weapon hidden on their person?\n\nAt what point do we allow free speech to run rampant, or should we curtail it, lest someone be injured by their own words?\n\nOther questions come about regarding race relations and these relations will affect the Academy Awards going forward, and this is assuming the courts do not get involved?\n\nJoin our panel, on Saturday, 4:00 pm (EST), 1:00 pm (PST), 9:00 pm (GMT), as we discuss these questions and raised by this incident, if it effects the blind community, and whether the blind community should have a stake in the conversations taking place in the wake of the slap heard around the world.\n\nThe Blind Perspective is an interactive show, allowing for the participation of the audience.
