Included with the episode are the recipes below.\n\nBarley With Currants And Pine Nuts\n\nTools Required: \n\nMeasuring spoons\nMeasuring cups\nMixing bowls\npairing knife \nfood chopper\nsmall skillet \npot spoon suitable for use in a hot pot\nskewer\nCrock-Pot\nPaper towels\n\nIngredients:\n\n1 to 1 and a half teaspoons of unsalted butter\n1 small onion, finely chopped\n2 cups of fat-free reduced-sodium chicken 1 can of broth\n1half cup of pearl barley\n1 half teaspoon of salt\n1 quarter teaspoon of black pepper\n1third cup of currants\n1quarter cup of pine nuts\n\nTime to cook -\nMelt the butter in a small skillet over a medium-high heat. \nAdd the onion and cook and stir for 2 minutes, or until it is lightly browned. \nOr if you are unable to see if it is lightly browned then wait until you hear a sizzling sound.\nOr test with a skewer\n\nNext Transfer to a Crock-Pot. \nAdd broth, barley, salt and pepper to the Crock-Pot. \nStir in currants. \nCover and cook on low for 3 hours. \nStir in pine nuts and serve immediately.\nThis makes 4 servings.\n\nCalories: 197\nTotal fat: 8g\nSaturated fat: 1g\nProtein: 5g\nCarbohydrate: 30g\nCholesterol: 4mg\nFiber: 5g\nSodium: 228mg\n\nKitchen Tips:\n\nPale Gravy? \n* Color with a few drops of kitchen bouquet or soy sauce.\n* To avoid the problem in the first place, brown the flour well before adding the liquid.
