b'Chonya Johnson is a passionate leader, dedicated public servant and devoted community advocate. \\nChonya recognized a disparity in the schools and a desperate need to provide better opportunities for both students and teachers. \\nChonya\\u2019s dedication to her community and her desire to rectify the disparities she recognized in the public schools, have propelled her to make an even greater impact on her community.\\nChonya is a native of New Orleans.She has a BS in Criminal Justice, a Post-Baccalaureate in Legal Studies,a MA in Political Science.\\n \\nChonya has more a long history in public service. She has acted as the Deputy District Director to Representative Shelia Jackson Lee of the 18th district of Texas and Representative Donna F. Edwards of the 4th district of Maryland.While serving in these positions, Chonya advised members of the U.S. House of Representatives on policy matters using her extensive knowledge of the legislative process and her ability to network and coordinate with a variety of decision makers. \\nCurrently, Chonya serves as a Congressional Affairs Liaison for the United States Census Bureau. Chonya plays a key role in communicating with policymakers the activities of the agency. In this role, Chonya fulfills a variety of responsibilities including analyzing legislation and communicating on census related issues with Congressional Members, state and local government agencies, organizations and interested individuals.\\nChonya is the CEO and founder of the Davis-Johnson Education Resources Foundation (DERF). DERF founded in 2005, platform is aimed at educating, motivating and empowering future leaders. \\nChonya also serves on several boards,a member of many organizations, such as The Professional Black Woman and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.'
