When Mixer announced its closure this summer, and Twitch banned Dr. Disrespect not a week thereafter, one could be forgiven for assuming that the earlier event might have had some effect on the latter. Indeed, here in Virtual Legality we suggested as much, stating that Twitch's freeing up of value in the Dr. Disrespect contract in such circumstances was not that unusual for the more "litigiously" minded companies out there, and also... that such value *might* just find its way into the pockets of personalities like Ninja and Shroud. An insane theory? Perhaps. But with Ninja announcing his return to Twitch today, there can be no question that the streaming giant felt that it had money to spend.
