Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is not new (PTSD) According to Dr. Norman references can be found to it well before the First World War where we called it Shell Shock. Each war has had a different name for this condition but finally we are understanding its causes and improving on available treatments. In fact Dr. Norman makes a strong point that Vietnam veteran who received treatment in the1980 to no avail should give the VA another chance at if not curing the problem, mitigating the symptoms. An area of importance that we touched on was the symptoms of PTSD that might be indicators spouses and loved ones should encourage their vet to get help. Listen in and hear how you might save someone life and that life might even be yours.
