Shawn earned his bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies with an emphasis in employment relations from Michigan State University. He was really involved in extracurriculars while in school and got his first job working in college admissions. This position eventually led to his becoming a college recruiter for Bank of America. He then went on to work in the HR field for 23 years at The Field Museum and became CHRO there. He now serves as the executive director for NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Employers which has 13,000 members and represents over 3,000 university college career development and company talent acquisitions professionals.
