I will be reading the book of proverbs for 31 days. Proverbs 5 New International Version

\nWarning Against Adultery\n

5 My son, pay attention to my wisdom,
\nturn your ear to my words of insight,
\n2 that you may maintain discretion
\nand your lips may preserve knowledge.
\n3 For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey,
\nand her speech is smoother than oil;
\n4 but in the end she is bitter as gall,
\nsharp as a double-edged sword.
\n5 Her feet go down to death;
\nher steps lead straight to the grave.
\n6 She gives no thought to the way of life;
\nher paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it.

\n

7 Now then, my sons, listen to me;
\ndo not turn aside from what I say.
\n8 Keep to a path far from her,
\ndo not go near the door of her house,
\n9 lest you lose your honor to others
\nand your dignity[a] to one who is cruel,
\n10 lest strangers feast on your wealth
\nand your toil enrich the house of another.
\n11 At the end of your life you will groan,
\nwhen your flesh and body are spent.
\n12 You will say, \u201cHow I hated discipline!
\nHow my heart spurned correction!
\n13 I would not obey my teachers
\nor turn my ear to my instructors.
\n14 And I was soon in serious trouble
\nin the assembly of God\u2019s people.\u201d

15 Drink water from your own cistern,
\nrunning water from your own well.
\n16 Should your springs overflow in the streets,
\nyour streams of water in the public squares?
\n17 Let them be yours alone,
\nnever to be shared with strangers.
\n18 May your fountain be blessed,
\nand may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.
\n19 A loving doe, a graceful deer\u2014
\nmay her breasts satisfy you always,
\nmay you ever be intoxicated with her love.
\n20 Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man\u2019s wife?
\nWhy embrace the bosom of a wayward woman?

\n

21 For your ways are in full view of the Lord,
\nand he examines all your paths.
\n22 The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them;
\nthe cords of their sins hold them fast.
\n23 For lack of discipline they will die,
\nled astray by their own great folly.
