Last month, in a victory for the Algonquins of Barriere Lake, Quebec\u2019s Superior Court rejected an appeal from Copper One Inc. against a government decision to deny the mining company a deforestation permit on provincial wildlife reserve La V\xe9rendrye, located on unceded Indigenous territory.
