b'“Life is ultimately how you spend your time. What are you saying ‘yes’ to and what are you saying ‘no’ to?” This week Steph sits down with Coach and Guide for impact leaders and entrepreneurs, Urszula Lipsztajn. Urszula describes her journey from dissatisfaction in her corporate job, to living a life of purpose as a successful entrepreneur. In 2011, she was in what she thought was her dream job. To a bystander’s eye Urs was thriving, but in reality she had the early stages of an ulcer, her hair was going grey, and her relationship was struggling, all while she was working 70+ hours a week. Urs decided to take a risk, and to make the leap into entrepreneurship. Her first iteration of this was in instructional design and learning program work. She quickly discovered the reality of the financial highs and lows of entrepreneurship, and that doing the work she was doing didn’t fill her up. Since her time living in a 600 m2 apartment with her partner in East Vancouver, to living in Squamish with an abundant garden, Urs’ business and lifestyle have transformed dramatically, but this growth did not happen overnight. “If I see something that matters to me, I make it happen, no matter how terrified I am, or how empty the bank account is, or how much I can’t sleep. I just see it, and I need to do something about it”. Urs recognized, with the help of a coach, that her gift was in helping people in moments of vulnerability. People would come to her in personal crisis, and she was able to guide them quickly to a breakthrough, and she realized how amazing she felt afterwards. Urszula’s reminds us that “the greatest gift we are can give the world is to be ourselves. Because when we are ourselves we are able to serve the world in the way we are here to serve”. Urszula’s 3 most important values include: 1. Time2. Trust 3. Legacy “If you are able to trust yourself, you are able to spend your time on the things that most matter to you. And ultimately this results in the culmination of your legacy”.How can you spend you time today, so that you are proud of the legacy you leave?
