President Joe Biden met yesterday with CEOs of some of the nation\u2019s largest retailers, including Walmart and CVS, to discuss holiday supply chain concerns. Biden pointed to improvements in backups at ports, saying that his administration\u2019s work has contributed to a 40% decrease in the number of containers sitting at docks for eight days or longer. Walmart\u2019s CEO, Doug McMillon, offered some reassurances and said, \u201cWhile we\u2019re all concerned about the supply chain, we have more inventory than we did a year ago and have the inventory that we need to be able to support the business.\u201d The meeting comes amid worries over the continued effects of the COVID pandemic on the economy as the holiday shopping season is in full swing.\nLearn more about your ad choices.
