The national average for a gallon of diesel increased by 2.8 cents to $5.101 a gallon, the Energy Information Administration reported Monday. That halts a brief two-week streak of declines. The price of diesel did fall in the New England region, by four-tenths of a cent, but it increased in the other nine.
