Today I am so excited to be speaking with someone I am obsessed with \\u2013 Morgan DeBaun! Since launching\\xa0Blavity Inc.\\xa0in 2014, Morgan has led the company to successfully acquire\\xa0Travel Noire, a travel platform for Black millennials and\\xa0Shadow And Act, a Black entertainment news site. Under her leadership, Blavity has launched\\xa0several leading consumer summits including\\xa0Summit 21\\xa0for Black women creators and Bay Area\\u2019s\\xa0AfroTech, the largest tech conference for Black innovators and founders. While scaling the company, Morgan has raised 11 million dollars from top Silicon Valley venture firms such as GV and Comcast.\\xa0
In this episode, we talk about Morgan\\u2019s rapid growth as a serial entrepreneur, how she\\u2019s been able to create a digital community with so much traction, why she flew all the way from San Francisco to Los Angeles to get her hair done, and the ways she coaches stylists, salon owners and small business owners to scalability.
