Jon, Lisa and Tina discuss how Small Talk has incorporated tele-therapy for children during the COVID-19 era.

Lisa Findling co-founded Small Talk to create a warm and functional speech and language treatment experience for both children and their families. Lisa collaborates with parents, classroom teachers, psychologists, and physical and occupational therapists to develop individualized treatment programs to maximize carry-over to other settings.

Lisa spent more than 18 years at Beaumont Hospital\\u2019s Center for Childhood Speech and Language Disorders where she developed and managed social skill groups for children of all ages and abilities, and served as coordinator for their specialized preschool program for speech and language impaired children. Her practice now includes treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, severe receptive and expressive language delays, articulation, apraxia, fluency, and oral-motor difficulties.

Lisa is a licensed speech and language pathologist certified by both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She earned her B.A. at Michigan State University and her Master\\u2019s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Wayne State University.

Lisa lives in Huntington Woods, Michigan with her husband and three children.

Tina Sappington is one of Small Talk\\u2019s proud co-founders. Although Tina\\u2019s extensive training and work experiences include both adults and children, her true passion is Early Childhood Language Development.

Before founding Small Talk, Tina led a specialized preschool program for language-impaired children within William Beaumont Hospital\\u2019s Pediatric Speech and Language Pathology Department. For over 10 years, she developed curriculum, participated in multidisciplinary assessment teams, and managed a caseload with a therapeutic emphasis on receptive and expressive language, cognition, pragmatics, articulation, phonological processing, apraxia of speech, fluency, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Tina prides herself on creating a welcoming and enjoyable therapeutic environment with a strong emphasis on functional goals that will develop a child\\u2019s language learning to their fullest potential.

Tina holds a Master\\u2019s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Wayne State University and is certified by both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

A life \\u2013 long Michiganian, Tina was born and raised in the Detroit area. She is married with three children.
